Palm Springs

Summertime in Palm Springs in not always the coolest, unless you spend the day at an awesome pool.  We invited the Rhodes girls to party with us at Shadow Ridge Vacation Club where everyone, especially Cooper and Sarah rode the water slide a billion times. Lexie played photographer and took spectacular photos of the kids.  Good times!!

Photography

I love photography.  I remember carrying a 110 camera in my purse in high school.  At that time, no one did that.  I have many, many photos, and it's a good thing.  The older I get, the more I forget.

My sister Jen has a photo studio in Cedar City, UT.  I am sooo jealous!  The equipment and a studio would be awesome. Here is a link to her studio  Storybook Portraits.  Check out the children in the Gallery.  The little Samoans are her kids.  Too cute.  Here is one of here babies, Avery.  If you are in the So Utah area and need a photographer, give her a jingle.

Girl's Camp

I was invited to Girl's camp for a couple of days this week.  All the girls were great, even you Janelle :)  Had a great time playing Phase 10, eating, talking, singing, sweating, swatting flies and LAUGHING!  Click HERE for more pix.

Got to spend 2 1/2 great days with my favorite teenaager!

Motorcycle Lessons

Stan got a bee in his bonnet a couple of years ago about getting a motorcycle license.  I told him it was irresponsible for a father with small children to do that (thanks, Dr. Laura).  Then Steve and Luanne told him about an awesome day trip they took in Maui by motorcycle.  Now he is determined.  Steve brought over his little motorcycle to give Stan a first lesson.  Luanne and I were in the house when Cooper came running in "Dad crashed and needs a towel."  Good Gravy! He actually jumped the curb and dropped the bike on himself, in an effort to prevent damage.  Well, a wet washcloth, a nasty couple of scrapes (ask to see his forearm) and he was back on the bike.  The dog loved chasing him around.  He'll be taking an actual class next month.  Crash updates to follow.

4th of July

We spent a beautiful day swimming and eating (do you see a pattern here?) with friends from our ward.  The kids swam for 4 hours, until their eyes were red and blurry.  That evening we watched the city's firework show from the most awesome location!  Thanks Gundersons!!

Palm Springs

The birthday party celebration continued to the desert.  Mom, Kelly and I spent 3 HOT days at the JW Marriott in Palm Desert.  We relaxed by the pool and ate our way across town: P.F. Chang's and Cheesecake Factory are both my favorite restaurants. So why decide.  We ate at both, in the same night!!! That's why I look like I am wearing a maternity shirt. NO, just fat, thank you very much! Thanks for the great trip.  I had a blast! xoxo

Happy Birthday!

Nothing is more enjoyable than good friends and food.  Claudia, Angie and I celebrated our birthdays together at Olive Garden with our lovely friends. Breadsticks,  Yummmmmy!!  Thanks for the great time gals!

Happy Canada Day!

To all my Canadian friends, Happy Canada Day!
We will celebrate the day by singing "O Canada" (yes I know the words-many hockey games, don't ya know) and eating Twizzlers.

We will also listening to our favorite Canadian Band, The Barenaked Ladies.  See my playlist for some of my favorite BNL songs.

Click on O Canada above and sing along:

 O Canada!
Our Home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard    for   thee.
